Conall Boland

Deputy Chairperson, An Bord Pleanála

Conall Boland is deputy chairperson of An Bord Pleanála, where he has been a board member since the end of the ‘celtic tiger’ era until the recent economic recovery. He leads the strategic infrastructure division, which is the body charged with decision-making on major infrastructure projects in Ireland including energy, transport, healthcare and waste. A Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, Conall holds civil engineering qualifications from Trinity College Dublin and the ENS Cachan (France) and a masters degree in Spatial Planning from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He was previously a technical director with RPS Consulting Engineers, working on environmental projects and waste policy at regional and national level.
